I used to have another blog, A Little Paint. It was all about my house, decorating and all things creative. I loved it. And then life did that thing where it throws you a curveball, and then another and another and another until your head is spinning so fast you can’t quite figure which way is up. That pretty much lasted all of 2012. So I abandoned the blog. Not intentionally at first. I was so wiped out by life’s events that I sort of went into survival mode to get through it. Creativity was the first thing to go, plus it’s hard to do most projects without the slightest bit of money.
Once I started to regain my footing (like a YEAR later), I wanted to keep blogging, but I didn’t feel like the blog portrayed me accurately. The blog tagline was It’s nothing a little paint can’t fix and my life needed a lot more than paint. Which brings me to this blog. I started Gloria Joy because I wanted something that encompassed more parts of my life. Because I’m so much more than some girl decorating her house. I’m a mom, trying to raise a son. I’m a daughter. A sister. An employee. My own boss. An entreprenuer, albeit a timid one. A decorator. A cook. A photographer. A graphic designer. An invitation designer. A seamstress. I carry many titles, much like many of you and that’s what I want to celebrate. I wanted an EVERYTHING blog, not just a decorating blog and a teensy bit more than a lifestyle blog. I want people to be inspired to accomplish those little ideas lingering in the back of their mind. I want them to realize just how faceted they are too and capable to accomplish more than they ever thought they could.
